Eligibility Criteria for recruitment of PO/ MT through Common Written Examination (CWE) 2012

Prospective Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the specified eligibility criteria before applying to various Public Sector Banks for the Common Written Examination (CWE). However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for the examination do not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks as each Bank will stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria.
Educational Qualification: 
                                                         A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Age Limit (as on 1 January 2012):  
                                                                       Minimum 20 years; Maximum 30 years

The above tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition will be printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.
Other detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in an Information Handout, on IBPS website which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter.
How to Apply for recruitment of PO/ MT through Common Written Examination (CWE) 2012
Candidates can apply online only and no other mode of application will be accepted.  Before applying online, candidates should first pay the application fees
Application Fee:               
                                            Application fee for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ex-Servicemen category candidates is Rs 50 and fee for other category candidates is Rs 450.

Online Payment: 
                                                  Payment of application fee can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated. Candidates are required to take a print of the e-receipt which will have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.


Offline Mode: 
                                 Candidates can make payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges payment of fees/ intimation charges through CBS branches of the following 6 Public Sector Banks
a)      Bank of Baroda
b)      Bank of India
c)      Central Bank of India
d)     Indian Overseas Bank
e)      Punjab National Bank
f)       United Bank of India

Candidates are first required to take a printout of the fee payment challan from IBPS website and indicate the particular Bank in which they wish to pay fees/ intimation charges. Candidates are required to fill in the fee payment challan for any of the above Banks with details such as Name, Date of Birth, Contact No., Category, Post Applied for, Amount deposited, Depositing Branch Name and City etc.
Collect the candidate's copy of the Fee Payment Challan from the Branch. Please check that the challan is properly signed and the details of Transaction Number, Branch Name and DP Code Number, Deposit Date have been noted in the challan by the Branch authorities. Candidates are required to submit the original fee payment challan along with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
Candidates are required to apply online on the IBPS's website www.ibps.in and enter their basic details and upload the photograph and signature in the online application form. Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature. Candidates should note their Registration Number and Password for future reference.
After applying on-line, the candidate should immediately take a printout of the system generated on-line application form, ensure the particulars filled in are accurate, and retain it for future reference. They should not send this print out to the IBPS.

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) declared Common Written Examination (CWE) result for Recruitment of Clerks on 29 February 2012. The exam was held for the first time on 27 November 2011 for recruitment of bank personnel in 19 public sector banks.

            Interview will be of 100 Marks and at least 40 Marks are Needed to qualify in GD/Interview while 35 Marks are needed for SC/ST/OBC/PWD.
            On final selection, candidates will be under probation for 2 Years and have to sign a service bond of Three years for sum of Rs. One Lakh.

Physical standard requirements:
                                                               For men candidates: Not less than a height of 163 cms, 79 cms around the chest on expiration and must have full inspiration, an expansion of not less than 5 cms and ability to walk 25 kms in four hours.

For Women Candidates: Not less than a height of 150 cms, 74 cms around the chest on expiration and must have full inspiration, an expansion of not less than 5 cms and ability to walk 16 kms in four hours.

               Minimum age requirement is 18 years and maximum age requirement is 28 years as on the 1st of July 2011. For further details regarding upper age relaxation.
 
Mode of Selection:
                                       Selection procedure will have two successive stages being objective type written test and walking test for those qualifying in written examination and oral test in the form of interview for candidates fulfilling the physical measurements. The written test is planned to be held of 08th of April 2012.

                                All candidates will have to pay Rs.100 towards application processing fee and candidates, who are not exempted from payment of fee will also have to pay Rs.120 towards examination fee. II Step:-         Immediately on entering the above details the Applicant will get (downloadable)- Challan Form to pay the Fee at AP Online centers /State Bank of India. 
III Step:-            The Applicant should pay the prescribed Fee in any one of the A.P. Online centers / State  Bank of India and obtain Fee paid challan with Journal Number in the first instance. 
IV Step:-         On the next working day after payment of Fee the Applicant should again visit WEBSITE and enter the Journal Number to get the format of Application. The applicant has to invariably fill all the columns in the Application and should submit ON-Line. Even after making payment of fee, candidate fails to submit the bio-data particulars, such applications shall be rejected without giving any notice. 
V Step:-          If any candidate fails to enter “Community” for any reason, they will be treated as an  OC without giving any notice.
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:-   
                                                     The Scheme & Syllabus for the examination has been  The Written examination will be followed by the Walking Test and Medical Test as per rules, which will be notified at the appropriate time.
CENTRES FOR THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
  The Written Examination will be held at the following Five Centres:  
1- HYDERABAD   
2- VISAKHAPATNAM  
 3- VIJAYAWADA 
4- TIRUPATI   
 5- WARANGAL. 
 Applicants should choose only one of the above centres. Centre once chosen shall be final. 
The Commission however reserves the right to allot  candidates to any centre other than centre chosen by the applicant or abolish a centre  and/or to create a new centre for 
administrative reasons. 
PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:
THE SELECTION OF CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE POSTS WILL BE MADE IN 
TWO SUCCESSIVE STAGES VIZ., 
i) Written Examination (Objective Type) 
and 
ii) Oral Test in the shape of Interview only for those qualified as per Rules. 5
THE FINAL SELECTION OF THESE POSTS WILL BE BASED ON THE WRITTEN AND 
ORAL MARKS PUT TOGETHER. 
1. Only those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination by being ranked high will be called for interview in 1:2 ratio.  The minimum qualifying marks for interview / selection are OCs 40%, BCs 35% SCs, and STs 30% or as per Rules.  The minimum qualifying marks are relaxable in the case of SC/ST/BC at the discretion of the Commission. 
2. The candidates will be selected and allotted to the Service as per their rank in the merit list and as per zonal preference for allotment of candidates against vacancies and for the 
vacancies available.   N.B.: Mere securing minimum qualifying marks does not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview. 
3.   The appearance in all the papers at the Written Examination and also for interview in case called upon, if qualified, as per Rules is compulsory.  Absence in any of the above tests will automatically render his candidature as disqualified.  
4. Candidates have to produce Original documents and other particulars for verification as and when required and called for.  If the particulars furnished in the Application do not tally with the Original documents produced by the candidate, the candidature will be rejected.  As candidature for the recruitment is processed through Computer/Electronic devices based on the particulars furnished in the Application Form, the candidate is advised to fill in all the relevant particulars carefully. 
5. While the Commission calls for preference of candidates in respect of posts, zones  etc., in the Application Form, it is hereby clarified that the said preferences are only indicative for being considered to the extent possible but not binding or limiting the Commission’s powers enjoyed under Article 315 and 320 of the Constitution of India.  Therefore, the Commission has the power to assign a successful candidate to any of the notified posts for which he is considered by them to be qualified and eligible, subject to fulfilling the selection criterion. Mere claim of preference for any Zone for allotment against vacancy does not confer a right to selection for that Zone in particular or any Zone in general.   
6. The appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the appropriate medical classification, and if he is of sound health, active habits, free from any bodily infirmity.
